Gyaltsab je

Tibet - copper alloy gilded, pigment - high 13 - large 8,2 cm - 17th century

The character sits in the padmasana position on a double lotus flower base. The right hand performs the abhayamudra gesture while the left, in the avakasamudra, holds a book. The character wears monastic robes and the typical headdress of the Gelug-pa school. Traces of silver and pigments are visible on the face. The character could be identified as one of the two main disciples of the master Tsong Khapa, Gyaltsab je (1364-1432) or as one of the Dalai Lama.
